Hello All,
First off, welcome to my blog. As you may have guessed from the title of my blog, it will incorporate a synopsis from books I read, my progress on my writing, and crocheting projects I have completed. Feel free to leave comments, but be aware that rude comments will be deleted.
I'm sure everyone would like a little bit of information on myself. So, here it goes! =]
My name is Megan and I am a United States Air Force wife. My husband and I started dating in 2006 and got married in 2008, five months after I graduated high school. Two weeks after our wedding, the military moved us to Alaska for three years. While Alaska can be beautiful and worthwhile at times, it is definitely not a place where I could live my entire life. We are anxiously awaiting our PCS orders, which should be here in about a year. I am ecstatic to see where the military, and life, takes us.
My husband and I do not have any children; however, we do have a dog, who might as well be our child. Chevy is a Vizsla and Whippet mix and is approximately two years old, give or take a month or two. She is my pride and joy and keeps me company when my husband is away from home on his military duties.
I am currently attending the University of Maryland University College and am dual-majoring in English/Literature and Criminal Justice. I hope to eventually go to Graduate School there and obtain my masters in English Literature. Eventually, I would like to become a published author. I have already stared one novel, which may not ever be published. This summer I hope to start a more sophisticated novel, as well as finish it. In addition, I plan to teach high school level English, as well as dual-enrolled college English courses.
During my high school years I was actively involved in music/band, soccer, and theater. All three of these still remain a big part of my life. I participated in the march band at LCHS and have played the clarinet since I was in the fifth grade. I played soccer during my eighth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade years at the junior and varsity levels. I was also on a travel soccer team for a few years. I was also in theater in the ninth grade and during my senior year of high school, I was in Advanced Theater. I participated in "Cyrano," and "The Outsiders." I also was stage manager and snagged the lead role in a one act play, entitled "Six Days To Melissa." Theater was by far the most amazing experience and it change my life in ways that you can never imagine. It will always remain one of my deepest passions.
One of my other hobbies, in addition to music, soccer, and theater, is crocheting. I currently just finished my first project, and I currently started a baby blanket for my cousin, Jessica. Reading is also a huge hobby of mine. I always have my nose stuck in a book. I simply cannot get enough of books. I love the adventure's I go on when I'm reading them! I love the characters I meet and those I fall completely in love with. Reading creatively opens the imagination and can allow the audience to explore wonderful world's created by the imagination of their authors. Also, if you haven't already guessed, I love to write as well. Primarily, I like to write novels and I have never tried to write poetry. I do not find myself very poetic, to say the least.
I have a little brother and. I never thought in a million years that I'd miss him after I moved away from home (we fought like cats and dogs when I lived at home), but I do. I also have a HUGE extended family; so huge in fact, that Eric, my husband, has not even met all of them! I'm very close to my Grandma Price, who, aside from Stephanie and my mom, is my best friend.
My travels have seen me to places that I never thought I'd ever visit, obviously one includes Alaska. Never in a million years did I ever think I'd moved to Alaska. I've also been to San Antonio, Texas for Eric's Basic Military Training graduation. I've been to New York City twice and seen four broadway shows: "Phantom of the Opera," "The Lion King," "Legally Blonde: The Musical," and "Wicked." One day I hope to go on a road trip around the United States. =] There are quite a few other places I have visited, but it would take way too much time to type them out!
xoxo,
Meg
