18,404

That's how many words I have in my book; 18,404.

18,404 words translates to about 50 pages.

The past couple of days I've been working pretty well at writing my novel. I've written roughly 18 to 20 pages and I'm sure I'll try to get another five to ten pages before this weekend is out.

I've been wanting to share more excerpts from my novel, but ultimately decided against it. I was too worried about someone stealing my work. So, excerpts won't be appearing on my blog; just random updates on how things are going. I do think I'll be sending the first chapter to my best friend for her to read here in the next couple of days. I just want some feedback and her take on it. Hopefully the first chapter catches her attention!

Eric's been asking about my novel. I'd be surprised if he ever read it (hes not into reading very much), but he does know a few things about it. He even asked if he was in it! The obvious answer is: of course he is! The main guy character has a lot of his characteristics and personality. Some of which may or may not be exaggerated a bit. =]

I've been reading Eat, Pray, Love for this month's ESC Book Club meeting. It's an alright book. I was enjoyed it at first and then I guess I kind of just lost focus on it. I'll explain more when I post about it.

So I've decided that while I'm reading Eat, Pray, Love (since it is a non-fiction work), I will also pick up Eclipse and reread that before the movie comes out later this month. I don't remember what happens at all in that book, so I need to be prepared. I figured it'd be easy to balance both books because both are relatively easy reads. I hope to have Eat, Pray, Love done by next week. So, we shall see.

Oh yeah, and I apologize for being absent lately. I have been incredibly busy here with school going on and getting involved in the Enlisted Spouses Club on base. I've met some amazing ladies lately and it's helping me enjoy Eielson and Alaska somewhat more. =] I have a lot planned with them and I'm excited for our adventures together.

I've also been thinking of branching out my blog a little bit; perhaps posting updates on topics other than reading, writing, and crocheting. So, from now on, you may find me posting about my thoughts, feelings, military life, love, and etc.; stuff like that! Which may or may not be exciting!

Until next time,
Megan
